Vision
To enable the development and deployment of the advanced IoT technologies, applications and services creating IoT sustainable, safe, secure and standardised solutions to address the changing paradigm in energy sector, supporting Green Deal Goals and enabling Energy Transition. We envision R&I agenda topics and bring present and future opportunities.
Scope
Engage, organise, contribute and initiate activities and thought leadership contributions related to the on-going Energy Transition in the EU in support of Green Deal. Through broad representation of working group members we strive to make an impact and shape future developments.
Activities
Stakeholders related activities and policy contributions
- Support DG ENER, DG CNECT and DG CLIMA in delivering workshops and policy papers on “Open Energy Marketplaces” activities linked to digitalisation in Energy Sector, P2P energy and role of blockchain and smart contracts. Finalising the recommendations for Discussion paper on Open Energy Marketplaces with ENTSO-E. KIC Innoenergy, ETIP-SNET and Sustainability Lab Bocconi.
- Interface with stakeholder organisations within the sector ETIP-SNET, ENTSOE, KIC Innoenergy, EDSO, SMARTEN and others
- Interface PPP related to the goals of WG (example Hydrogen)
- Recovery and Resilience Facility projects contributions
POVs
- Facilitate contributions to the AIOTI papers, among many: 5G impact in Energy, SRIA, SNS partnership and other consultations
- Contribute to the Green Deal Goals in the SNS Partnership, support IoT unit in Green Deal focused activities
- Joint paper on circular IoT with WG Ecosystem
Events
- Coordinate a session at IoT week 2021
- Contribute to the AIOTI Signature event
- Participation in Energy sector relevant events EURELECTRIC, INNOGRID2020, ENLIT, FLEXCON, EU Sustainable Energy week, Green Week
- Propose an event fitting Climate Pact activities
Scale-ups
- Facilitate scaling up efforts of the solutions, including platforms uptake within the group
- Create a living document of projects related to energy in which group members participate
- Design and develop a systematic approach towards use cases development, addressing decarbonisation goals within the Green Deal
EU Research and Innovation
- Facilitating consortia building for Horizon Europe and other funding programmes within the scope of the group
- Facilitate ongoing projects dissemination and solutions introductions within the group aimed at scaling ups within EU
- Contribute to the evolving reference architectures for smart grids TSO-DSO-Aggregator-consumers
- Contribute towards EU smart sector integration strategy solutions, including reference architectures
- Set common activities with Gaia-X related to topics of Smart Sector Integration strategy
